The Wild Cat/Panther Clan

The Wild Cat /Panther clan is also known as the Blue Clan according to 

My Inspiration came from my Father's Experience when he was a young boy.

When he was a young boy he made friends with a wild black Panther.  He said when him and his brothers went fishing at night. They walked out to the boat and with their lanterns they gigged fish.  They heard a wild cat scream off on the shore.  They kept fishing and when they went to the shore they gathered their gear and started walking home.

 My dad said he left one fish behind on the shore for the wild cat.  The next time they went fishing the Wild Cat brushed by my dad's paint leg.  He saw it was a black panther and it ran and hid in the bushes and screamed.  My dad and his brothers fished and when they got back on the shore, my dad left another fish.  He did this everytime they fished.  

One night the Panther chased my dads brothers up a tree.  The black panther did nothing to my dad, the cat was his friend or "Brother" and my dad did not run from the cat.  He was not afraid of him and continued to walk home like nothing happend.  He shared a fish as a token of friendship.

 I wanted to paint my father's experience as a collage painting.  I made the cat look like he was wet from fishing.  A young panther happy with a full stomach of fish. The black water was the river at night.  "Brothers" my dad is of the Wolf Clan family.  But I made it in honor of the Wild Cat Clan.  I put the turbin on the boy.  My dad did not have a turbin.  But I wanted the boy to wear one to show the Cherokee heritage of our family.
